Day of the Dead
I’ll be hanging my installation “The Judgment” at the annual SOMArts Day of the Dead show. Over 70 artists will be participating in the show which is always very popular. Thanks to Ytaelena Lopez, my good friend and studio mate for pushing me to submit to the show. She will be making an installation with another friend and fellow sculptor, Edmundo.

Political Reality on Display
My most recent pipe sculpture is now hanging in the window of Micheal Kensinger’s marbling studio at 315 Valencia St @14th (a few doors from Four Barrel Coffee). Mike (who is quite an interesting and personable guy) came to the last show at Art Explosion and really wanted the piece to replace the current installation in his storefront window. He helped me hang it, added the rats and a quote from Studs Terkel that he found a few weeks ago: “Hope has never trickled down. It has always sprung up.” Perfect for the piece.
Next time you are at Four Barrel, come by and take a look! Here’s what it looks like from the street.

Jellyfish Show
Tonight’s opening was a fun affair. “I’m not telling” found a happy home. It was my first gallery sale, so it felt extra good. I realize I need to schmooze with potential buyers a bit more. I’ve always been a bit shy about that, but the one time tonight that I walked over and talked to to people looking at my work, they wound up buying.
This was one of my favorites and perhaps the most elaborate construction in the series.
